Global Nomadic Art Project

What is a GNAP?

The Global Nomadic Art Project [GNAP] is a project in which Nature Artists from around the world physically meet on location in order to work together. It was initiated by the Yatoo from South Korea, an artistic group active in Nature Art since 1981.

GNAP was founded on the idea that ‘nature has no borders’. It looked at the traditional life of nomads who obtain the bulk of their necessities of life from nature and who leave little trace when leaving. It was desired to better understand the root of human history and culture, and to reveal how creative practice continues to flow through direct contact with nature.

Ultimately, we are not interested in trying to make a monumental artwork, but rather we would like to leave traces of dialogue with nature around the world through the creation of small, ephemeral artworks. The artists will listen and communicate with nature through their work. All the interventions in nature is documented with photos and video, publicly exhibited and finally published in the form of catalogues and documentary films.

The Global Nomadic Art Project France 2024 [GNAP 2024] was held from April 21 to 28, 2024 in the Communauté de Communes Val de l’Indre / Brenne [Indre department, 36] and the Regional natural Park of the Brenne.
